Ride Leader: Hamish Rogers

Hamish Rogers with road crew Eep and Dave O’B took 21 members on 10 bikes and 2 trikes on a weekend away to the Peak District, based in Buxton.

Leaving Thursday 15 June the ride left GHD stopping at the H Cafe south of Oxford for coffee and then lunch at the National Motorcycle Museum before a run into Buxton on the A515.

A group meal at the Best Western Lee Wood hotel was followed by a quiz playing for the Tim Williams cup which was won by Gina.

Day 2 the group rode the Cat & Fiddle and Winnats Pass stopping for lunch in Castleton. Those brave enough explored the Devel’s Arse also known as Peaks Cavern. After lunch the ride went via Bakewell for an ice cream at Taggs Dairy in Monyash.

Day 3 was a ride over Snake Pass to the Ladybower Dam for coffee and a visit to the dam that the Dambusters practiced on. After coffee we dropped into Bakewell for lunch and a return visit to the Tagg Dairy.

The return trip was via Matlock, Ripley and the M1.
